The St. George Area Parade of Homes just wrapped up earlier this week. This year marked the 29th anniversary of the annual open-house, innovative home technology and charitable event.

This years’ parade, which got underway starting Feb. 15, featured 30 different new construction homes. This represents the largest number of houses that have ever been featured as part of this event.

A spokesperson for the Southern Utah Home Builders Association noted that the featured homes this year included ones that were a fit for everyone’s family and budget. The average square footage of the houses that formed part of the parade was just over 3,767 square feet. Prices ranged from $299,000 up to nearly $3 million for an 8,500 square feet house.

Each annual parade has a theme, and this year organizers chose “Bringing Dreams to Life”. They selected this one because they say it’s reflective of the reason that people attend the parade. They come to get new ideas about how to make their own homes the ones of their dreams or to purchase a new house that’s being showcased at the event.

Many attendees this year found that a large number of the homes that formed part of the parade had already been sold, but realtors were on hand to provide buyers with information about how to make their dreams a reality in another one of St. George’s neighborhoods.

Since the parade’s inception nearly three decades ago, organizers say that it has had an economic impact of $852 million on this Southern Utah community.

The real estate market is growing by leaps and bounds in St. George and surrounding areas. An increase in demand for land and homes has a way of creating strife, whether with city or county government officials over land use and property rights, between landlords and tenants or homeowners’ associations and residents. An attorney can help with these litigious matters that may arise between these interested parties.
